Personal Statement:
Hi! I'm Melanie Watson, a class of 2025 defender. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, and play for Charlotte Ambush Field Hockey Club. I also play for my school, Ardrey Kell High School. I am a highly determined and hardworking athlete. I am constantly improving and looking for ways to grow and raise my skill level. My coaches describe me as motivated, coachable, and strong. I also play lacrosse, which has helped me improve my strength and strategic play in field hockey. Academics are very important to me. I am hoping to study in the STEM field, specifically engineering studies. I picked up my field hockey stick in seventh grade, and haven’t set it down since! My field hockey season continues year-round, with spring, fall, and indoor seasons, as well as summer/fall club lacrosse seasons. I have always been interested in playing collegiate field hockey, and would be a strong asset on a competitive college team.

Nexus Regional Selection Camp, 1st Year Varsity Starter, registered over 70 interceptions (2022 school season), Selected as a “Leader Representative” for AK Student Athlete Leadership Council (2022-2023).
