Lauren Chotard

Personal Statement: 

I first started playing field hockey in 7th grade when my 6th grade computer teacher, Coach Lawrence, offered free, basic field hockey lessons over the summer in the hopes that I would play in middle school. I had a good time playing, and I remember learning a lot the first year I played, even though I was pretty confused since I had no idea what a corner was all year. I went out for my first Ambush team in November of 2020 when I really started to love the sport, and now I've played on many teams with different people.

My favorite part of playing field hockey these past couple of years is how I've met so many teammates that I have become close friends with, as well as players from field hockey camps and nice umpires and coaches. Playing with a fun team that I can eat dinner with at tournaments, make cookies with on holidays, and always have a good time with is what makes me love being on a team.
