Amelia Wagner

Personal Statement: 

My name is Amelia Wagner and my goal is to play field hockey at the college level after high school. I have participated in several team sports, but as soon as I picked up a stick for the first time, I knew this sport was for me and quickly developed a strong passion for field hockey. In the span of 2 ½ years, I went from barely making the JV Middle School team to being a High School Varsity starter as a freshman, selected First Team All-Conference and led the team in goals scored. This past season as a sophomore, I had the honor to be selected Second Team All-State, First Team All-Conference and Offensive MVP. I accomplished this through hard work and determination to improve my skills. Most of the time you will find me in the backyard practicing, working on new skills, and when the season is over, I will be at the gym working on strength and conditioning. I am constantly pushing myself to be better both athletically and academically. While my primary position is Forward, I also play Midfielder when coaches need me to. I pride myself on having a strong work ethic, being coachable, encouraging towards my teammates, and always have a team first mentality.
